Lowman is a small rural town in Boise County about 80 miles from the city of Boise. It sits at an elevation of 3,776 feet on the South Fork of the Payette River. There are numerous natural hot springs both in the middle of town and in the surrounding mountains.
Located the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, the area offers a multitude of opportunities for four-wheeling, horseback riding, rafting, fishing, hunting, and camping. Lowman also offers lodges for visitors, and many special events are held throughout the year.
